Dana Westbrook’s 1983 S10 Blazer is another one of the super influential builds for me, and I probably wouldn’t be here making this post without it! Being a local, I always saw Dana driving this Blazer around: going to Walmart, driving around the town etcetera. Before I was even fascinated by cars and automobiles, I would see this badass blazer thumping down the road, and always be in awe as it went by. Eventually, as you know, I got into the hobby of cars, and photographing them, and I made countless friends doing it. Last year, I went to my buddy Dana’s house for his birthday, and up until that point I had always thought that he just hung around with the guys like I did. I never knew he had a car of his own. When I pulled in his driveway, I caught a glimpse of an S10 Blazer in the garage, and I was in disbelief, that it was the Blazer that I had wondered who had owned for so many years!
Anyways enough of the storytelling, I know you guys want to know about the build on this truck. Dana’s Blazer is powered by a Blueprint Engines 383 stroker that is mated to a TCI Engineering transmission. The Quick Performance Ford 9” rear is long awaited, after Dana broke 2 rear ends within a month. This Blazer rolls on Hoosier front runners and SSR wheels. Some other modifications to this S10 include Yukon 3rd member, Calvert Racing Cal-Tracs, Holley 750 carburetor, Belltech sway-bars, Optima battery, Spicer u-joints, and Autometer gauges.
