Randy Chester‘s 1969 Chevy C10 has quite the history behind it, and loves to drive it around! This C10 was purchased brand new from Andean Chevrolet by Jasper Gazaway, and it was the only vehicle he and his wife had from 1970 until 1982. 12 years after Jasper passed, Randy‘s father-in-law was able to purchase it. He drove it daily for 11 years before he was able to get it from his father-in-law. As of today, he has owned it for 4 years, and has done quite a bit of work to it.
He pulled the original 6 cylinder out, and replaced it with a much more substantial 454 cubic-inch power plant. He also added front disk brakes and power steering to help control the pickup better.
This C10 got an altitude adjustment of 3” in the front and 6” in the back with help from Poole's Mill Rods , and is sitting on American Racing Salt Flats (20x9.5 in the front and 20x10 in the rear). In regards to the beautiful patina on this pickup, he washed it down with CLR to clean up the rust stains and polished the original paint.
The tag on the front, “CUMMING, GA: Best town in GA by a dam site” was on Donald Glover’s 55 Chevy that he drove. Donald was a drafting teacher at Forsyth County High School, and he purchased the tag from a store in Cumming when they began constructing Lake Lanier (around 1956).
