I’ve seen this 1965 Econoline at the Varsity Cruise In countless times, and have taken pictures of it every time I’ve seen it, but I could never seem to take pictures that do it justice. Parked up perfectly in the sun, this time I believe I did this House of Kolor Kandy Tangerine paint justice. The Econoline was introduced as a budget pickup in 1961 with a small inline six, which is a far cry from the hopped up 302 that’s in this one. This car was built by Mercury Charlie out in Texas, and Walter, the current owner has had it for just about a year and a half.
Jimmy Barton’s “Missfit”, is a 55 Chevy Gasser with plenty of pin-striping and attitude! If his name sounds familiar, he is also the owner of the blown C1 Corvette I posted last Wednesday. Missfit, unlike some of his other cars, is street legal, and maybe I’ll get to take some pictures of some of his purpose built drag cars sometime soon. This car has no supercharger, turbo or nitrous, and puts plenty of power down with motor alone.
Jimmy Barton’s C1 Corvette is one of a kind, and really surprised me when it pulled in to The Varsity yesterday! This beast of a Corvette has a massive blower sticking through the engine bay, and the gauges mounted on it, perfect height to see them. I thought it was funny, because I was just talking to another Corvette owner, before Jimmy pulled up, how much I love seeing cars with huge blowers coming through the hood, and how I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone do it with an older Corvette. This one definitely takes the cake for being the first, and definitely one of the coolest cars I’ve seen in a while.
This is definitely one of the cleanest classic Camaros I have ever seen. The paint shines like a mirror, and the engine bay is always spotless. Always enjoy talking to Dwayne, the guy that owns it, and can’t wait for the memories to be made this year during the varsity cruise in!
